1. This policy
This Privacy Policy explains how Elthara handles personal information when you visit elthara.space, create or use Your Elthara, purchase a digital work, download a purchased work, or contact Elthara. Elthara is operated from Alberta, Canada.

2. Information Elthara collects
Depending on how you use Elthara, information may include your email address; your account identifier and securely hashed password; the works attached to your account; order number, purchase date, amount, currency and payment status; Stripe payment or checkout references; reading-progress information if that feature is used; messages you send to Elthara; and limited technical or security information generated when the site is used.
Elthara does not intentionally collect your full payment-card number. Payment details are entered into Stripe's payment service and are handled by Stripe under its own privacy and security practices.
3. Why the information is used
Personal information is collected, used, and disclosed only for reasonable purposes connected with operating Elthara, including to create and secure accounts; process and verify purchases; deliver purchased works; maintain order and ownership records; provide downloads and reading access; answer support, privacy, and order requests; prevent fraud, abuse, or unauthorized access; maintain and troubleshoot the service; and meet legal, accounting, tax, or regulatory obligations where applicable.
If Elthara wants to use personal information for a materially different purpose that requires consent, appropriate consent will be requested.
4. Consent and choice
By choosing to provide information for an account, purchase, support request, or other feature, you consent to its handling for the purposes explained at or before collection and in this policy, subject to rights and exceptions provided by law. Elthara limits collection to information reasonably needed for those purposes.
Creating an account or making a purchase does not automatically subscribe you to promotional email. If Elthara introduces marketing email, marketing consent will be handled separately and an unsubscribe method will be provided as required.
5. Stripe and service providers
Elthara uses Stripe to process payments. Information necessary to create and verify a payment, such as your email address, purchase details, amount, currency, and transaction references, may be sent to and received from Stripe.
Elthara uses Hostinger for website hosting and technical infrastructure, and Stripe for payment processing. These providers may use affiliates or subprocessors where reasonably necessary to provide their services. Stripe may process personal information in the United States and other countries where Stripe, its affiliates, or its subprocessors operate. Hostinger operates infrastructure in multiple countries, and information handled through Hostinger may be processed outside Canada depending on the hosting, infrastructure, support, security, or subprocessor services involved. Information processed outside Canada may be subject to the laws of the jurisdiction where it is processed.

6. Disclosure
Elthara does not sell personal information. Personal information may be disclosed to service providers where reasonably necessary to operate Elthara; where you direct or consent to the disclosure; to investigate security, fraud, or abuse; or where disclosure is authorized or required by applicable law.
7. Security
Elthara uses reasonable administrative and technical safeguards appropriate to the information it holds. Passwords are stored as one-way password hashes rather than readable passwords. Payment secrets and other sensitive server configuration are kept outside the public site area. Access to administrative functions is restricted.
No internet service can promise absolute security. If Elthara becomes aware of a privacy or security incident, it will assess and respond to it in accordance with applicable law.
8. Retention
Personal information is kept only for as long as reasonably needed for the purposes for which it was collected and for legitimate legal, accounting, security, dispute, and record-keeping requirements. Order and ownership records may need to be retained so purchased access can continue and transactions can be documented. Information that is no longer reasonably required will be securely deleted or anonymized where appropriate.
9. Access and correction
You may ask what personal information Elthara holds about you and request access to or correction of that information, subject to exceptions provided by applicable law. Send the request from the email address associated with Your Elthara, where possible, to hello.c.anne@gmail.com. Elthara may take reasonable steps to verify your identity before providing account information.
10. Cookies and similar technology
Elthara may use essential cookies or similar browser storage needed for sign-in, session security, checkout protection, preferences, or basic site operation. If non-essential analytics, advertising, or tracking technologies are introduced later, this policy and any required consent choices will be updated before they are relied on.
11. Children
Elthara is not designed to knowingly collect personal information from a child who cannot validly provide the required consent. If you believe a child has provided personal information without appropriate authorization, contact Elthara so the situation can be reviewed.
12. Changes to this policy
Published versions of this Privacy Policy are kept as separate versions. The current version and effective date are shown on the policy page. Material changes will be reflected in a new published version.
